About CAMAN
CAMAN is the Cluj Academic Metropolitan Area Network. It links together the most important universities in a network, built upon a fiber optics backbone which spans across 160 km fiber length all over Cluj-Napoca. It was the first ATM network in Romania, and between the first to be implemented in Europe. Currently the project of developing a Gigabit network is started and in the near future it should fullfill based on the interest of the universities involved.
